CONGRATULATIONS are in order! We are pleased to announce the winner of the 2019 Competition Awards and Moriesian Miles:
The Awards Program recognizes Moriesians and members who are competing against other breeds. The versatility of the Moriesian is exhibited in the variety of disciplines in which they compete and the MHR honors those who excel.
Performance: Tamara Turgeon won with Nanne’s Brandia Dancer (Tristan). One horse may submit results of ten classes from at least three different shows, and can combine types of classes within this division. Tamara’s best scores were in English and Western Pleasure, English Equitation, Hunt Seat and Trail classes.
Moriesian Miles: for those who spend non-competitive time with their Moriesian(s): trail riding, camping, pleasure driving, lessons, parades, clinics and other events. The MHR honors those who are putting on miles and spending hours promoting the Moriesian breed.
Winner: Tamara Turgeon with Nanne’s Brandia Dancer (Tristan) – 508 hours. Tamara participated in trail rides, lessons, free rides, horsemanship and bridle horse clinics and ranch roping practices. Tamara and Tristan display an excellent example of Moriesian versatility!
